Paul Berthiaume is a visionary Christian leader whose life is marked by a passionate commitment to faith, community, and education. Born and raised in Superior, Wisconsin, Paul’s journey of faith began in high school, leading him to start a church at the remarkable age of 19. This early spark ignited a lifelong dedication to ministry and service. In 2000, Paul graduated from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul with a Master of Divinity, a pivotal moment that shaped his theological perspective and ministry trajectory. The Bethel Seminary Alumni Council recognized his exceptional leadership by naming him the 2013 Bethel Seminary Alumnus of the Year.

Together with his wife Whitney, Paul founded Jacob’s Well Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 2001, where he continues to serve as Lead Pastor. What started as a humble group of friends in his living room, has blossomed over the years into a vibrant faith community of over 4,000, with significant influence in the Chippewa Valley and throughout Wisconsin. Under his leadership, Jacob’s Well continues to grow and offer impactful ministries, engaging over 2,000 adults and hundreds of children and youth every week. Paul has also played a pivotal role as a church planter and ministry coach throughout Wisconsin, fostering a culture of growth and empowerment within the Christian community at large.

An avid fisherman, Paul delights in the tranquility of time spent on the water. He resides in New Auburn, Wisconsin, with his wife Whitney and their beloved dog Cece. They have five adult children and one beautiful granddaughter. Paul is passionate about mentoring youth through outdoor experiences and has been actively involved in troop leadership for the Boy Scouts of America for many years. Beyond his pastoral role, Paul serves as chairman of the board at Venture Academy, championing the launch of this innovative new Christian School in the fall of 2024.
