Brian Sullivan embodies the essence of visionary leadership and educational excellence as he assumes the role of Head of School at Venture Academy. With a remarkable career spanning over four decades, Brian’s journey in education has been defined by his unwavering commitment to shaping young minds and fostering a culture of academic achievement.

Brian’s experience as Head of School at Maranatha Christian Academy in Brooklyn Park, MN, spanning from June 1985 to June 2019, underscores his ability to lead with purpose and drive transformative change. During his tenure, Brian played a pivotal role in defining the school’s mission, implementing innovative educational programs, and nurturing a community where students thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. Under his guidance, Maranatha saw unprecedented growth, including the establishment of STEAM and Entrepreneurship initiatives, which provided students with opportunities to explore their interests and develop essential skills for the future.

Prior to his leadership role at Maranatha, Brian served as a teacher and assistant principal in public education. While his early experiences in education laid the foundation for his future leadership, it is his extensive tenure at Maranatha that truly shapes his approach to educational leadership.

Brian’s dedication to advancing education extends beyond the confines of his school campuses. He has actively contributed to shaping educational policy and standards, serving as a member of the Nonpublic Educational Council from 1999 to 2009, appointed by the Governor of Minnesota. Additionally, his leadership roles include serving as School Accreditation Chairman for both the AdvancEd and the International Christian Accrediting Association from 1998 to 2010. Brian’s commitment to promoting excellence in education was further evidenced by his tenure as a board member for the MN Independent School Forum from 2020 to 2023 and as the State of Minnesota representative for the Association of Christian Schools International(ACSI) from 2011 to 2014.
